About the Program

The 20-month Post-RN BScN is designed for internationally educated nurses seeking registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), practice readiness and career advancement in Canada. Learn about the Canadian health care system, health equity and leadership while gaining experience through clinical practicums. Explore specialized nursing practice with optional streams in High Acuity and Critical Care, Mental Health, and Care of the Older Adult.
 
To become a Registered Nurse (RN), BScN graduates must pass the NCLEX-RN examination and meet all of the CNO registration requirements, including residency status (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or in Ontario: work or study permit).

This program is designed for internationally educated nurses.
To be eligible for admission to the program, you must:
  • be a licensed Registered Nurse in your home jurisdiction;
  • have been evaluated for an RN by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as possessing an education at least equivalent to a diploma level OR have a Registration Certificate as a Registered Nurse from the CNO; and

    Build on your previous nursing education and hone your practical skills in our Nursing Simulation Centre equipped with high-fidelity mannequins and Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality lab for immersive, self-paced learning. 

    Gain experience in the Canadian healthcare system through clinical placements in hospitals, community health centers, and other healthcare settings with partners in Brampton, Toronto, Mississauga, Newmarket, Vaughan, Durham, Barrie, and Oakville.  You will have the opportunity to rotate through various specialties to gain broad exposure such as medical-surgical nursing, paediatrics, maternity and obstetrics, mental health, community health, critical care, emergency nursing, and long-term care.
