About the Program
Our Bachelor of Education with a French as a second language concentration is designed for future immersion, extended and core French teachers and educational leaders. You'll learn how children and youth develop, how people learn French as a second language, and how to create engaging, inclusive language learning environments.
Since bilingualism is our raison d’être, Glendon is the ideal setting to learn how to teach French. Passionate about language and culture, but also social justice and equity? This is the program for you, thanks to our expertise in teaching a second language in a multicultural and inclusive context.

Applied Learning Opportunities
Glendon's Education program with French as a second language concentration gives you ample opportunities to apply the concepts and theories you’re studying in real world settings. Students participate in multiple practical placements at schools within the community, either in Immersion, Extended or Core French. Internships and practicums within Toronto's Francophone community, and international exchanges or placements are another way you can gain hands-on experience and further your linguistic and intercultural competence. You can also gain professional experience through on-campus work opportunities with the EXPLORE program or at the Salon francophone, as an academic peer tutor or within the French Studies department.
Recent grad Nawshin chats with us about her experience with the Career Centre and how she secured a full-time role within two months of graduating.
