About the Program
Statistics studies how to collect, interpret, and report on data to solve specific problems. Statistics can be applied to any field, so statisticians work in areas ranging from medical research, pharmaceuticals, and technology, to climate activism, politics, banking, and more.
In this program, you will study with award-winning professors to learn statistical theory and methodology, as well as gain necessary mathematical and communication skills. You will have practical experience in analyzing real-world problems through project courses and a capstone course.
You can pursue a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) as an Honours or Specialized Honours degree, or you can enhance another degree with a Statistics minor. In the BA program, you will take electives like economics, business, or psychology, and in the BSc program you will take electives like physics, biology, or chemistry. You can also satisfy the education requirements of the Associate Statistician (A.Stat.) professional designation.
